Kinsmen Children’s Hospital Home Lotto 2010

Thanks to you, over the past two decades, the Kinsmen Children’s Hospital Home Lotto has provided more than $22 million in funding to help save and improve young lives.

Every year, one in four kids in Calgary – and thousands more across the province – rely on care from our hospital because they are sick or injured. And every year, regardless of economic times, Kinsmen Lotto supporters have helped give those kids the best care possible.

This year’s lotto will fund the purchase of a Next Generation DNA Short Sequencer, state-of-the-art technology that will help our child health experts unlock the mysteries of genetic disease.

The Calgary Health Trust’s Lifestyles Lottery

Your participation in the Calgary Health Trust’s Lifestyles Lottery makes a difference to the health and well being of your family, friends and neighbours.

Each year, proceeds go directly to patient care. Since 2000, more than $13 million in lottery contributions have been directed to priority programs and services at the Rockyview General Hospital and Peter Lougheed Centre in areas such as day surgery, labour and delivery, diagnostic imaging, respiratory medicine and urology.

This year, your contribution to the Calgary Health Trust will support the Southern Alberta Institute of Urology at the Rockyview General Hospital. This centre for urology will be the largest and most comprehensive in Canada, and is currently under construction to be completed in 2010.

Your support will also improve patient care at the Peter Lougheed Centre by supporting the purchase of high definition video equipment, instrument sets, battery operated power tools and education models which all will enhance the quality of care and outcomes for patients requiring orthopaedic surgery.

Together, we help provide the resources needed to deliver the finest health care possible for our community.

Cash & Cars for Cancer

Since 2000, Cash & Cars Lottery proceeds have supported Alberta’s two largest cancer-fighting organizations: the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, Alberta/NWT Division. To date, ticket buyers like you have helped raise $18 million, opening doors to the discovery of preventative measures, life-saving treatments and medical advances that translate into better support services and treatments across Alberta.

This year alone, 45,000 Albertans will undergo cancer treatment. You may know some of these brave individuals personally – they could be co-workers, friends, a parent or child. The good news is the survival rate is the highest it’s ever been at 62 percent. But when someone you love is diagnosed with cancer, a 62 percent chance of surviving is still far from comforting.

Each Cash & Cars Lottery ticket you purchase speaks to your passion, drive and ongoing commitment to finding cures.
